Los Tios: Cheese Enchiladas

A few weeks ago for lunch I was craving Mexican food.  Los Tios is one of the restaurants that I usually go to when I am craving Mexican food. Especially cheese enchiladas, as seen in the picture above. Los Tios makes some good cheese enchiladas! They give you the right amount of enchiladas with the right kind of cheese.

I like a cheese enchilada that melts in your mouth and Los Tios cheese enchiladas certainly deliver. The price was ok, but not the best. But then again these are restaurant quality and not fast food cheese enchiladas. And also they give you re-fried beans and rice with a full bag of chips to go with it. So considering all this, the price is actually really good.

The people were also friendly and helpful. The restaurant looked clean and the quality of food was very good. Much better than fast food. I really enjoyed my cheese enchilada lunch from Lost Tios. It is a great place to eat Mexican/ Tex-Mex food. I enjoy all of their other menu items as well. They have good prices and great customer service.

Phillycheese Steak Co.: Original Cheese Steak

This past Saturday while on my way back from volunteering at a national park. I happened upon this place called Phillycheese Steak Co. Since I am a big fan of phillycheese steak sandwichs. I had to pull over and give them a try!
So I walked in and ordered their original cheese steak sand which. The staff were nice and friendly. They asked if I would like to eat inside the restaurant. Which I normally reject to, if I am by myself. But it did look like a comfortable place to eat alone. Nevertheless I had somewhere I had to be, so I rejected.
When I drove home to eat my sandwich. It was still nice and warm. It wasn't cold even after a 40 minute drive! Phillycheese Steak Co. is faraway from my house. It is almost in Cleveland TX.
So when I got home I expected my sandwhich to be cold, but it was nice and warm. The sandwich was everything that I would expect a phillycheese steak sandwich to taste like. Yes it is very authentic to a real phillycheese steak from philly.
I strongly recommend giving PhillyCheese Steak Co. A try. They make good sandwichs for a fair price. I wish they would have more locations. Preferably one closer to my house...

Catfish Station: Catfish Basket

All board! Choo, choo. It's the cat fish station! And it's got lots of catfish. 

But honestly I wasn't really sure what to think when I came across Catfish Station. The restaurant was small and it was drive-thru only. So I was a little weery. But I had been craving some catfish. Also the restaurant was packed to the brim with cars, so I thought it couldn't be all that bad. Besides what did I have to lose?

Actually, nothing at all. Catfish Station came through with exactly what I had been craving, catfish! I ordered the Catfish Basket. Which came with at least 5 big cat fish, a side of fries, two hush puppies, tarter sauce, and a drink. For the price I thought that was a really good deal. I honestly couldn't finish my meal.

I don't know much about Catfish Station, but it looked to be family owned. They looked to sell only catfish and shrimp. The staff were very nice and friendly. I enjoyed going to Catfish Station, And so did my family, who had to go get some after they had seen my food. My meal was really enough for them to share, but they had wanted to get their own. They sell a pound of catfish for $11.99 which my family got. I thought that was a good deal. It fed all three of them. It could have fed me too, but maybe next time! Catfish Station is a great restaurant for catfish and shrimp lovers.

(Update: 6/28/16 My family has been getting fish from Catfish Station every Sunday since this post. They love Catfish Station's fish that much!)

Taco Burger Cafe: Taco Burger Plate

This afternoon after a hard days work. I wanted to try a new restaurant. The restaurant called Taco Burger Cafe which is a burger/Tex-Mex place that I found while on my way to volunteer at an animal shelter on Sundays. But since Taco Burger Cafe closes on Sundays, I had to go today.

Taco Burger Cafe is about 40 minutes from where I live, but I didn't have much choice since I volunteer on Sundays and Taco Burger Cafe closes on Sundays. Which is fine.

So today for lunch I ordered the Taco Burger Plate which comes with their mini burger and a choice of a steak, or chicken taco. I chose the less expensive chicken taco. I thought the burger was great and reasonably portioned. But I really loved the taco! I really enjoy tacos made with tortilla bread instead of the hard crunchy shells. They are softer and easier to chew. The fries were great as well.

I thought it was a great meal. And yes sadly there was no actual taco burger.... I would have really loved to see that! But you can get the Taco Burger Plate which is good enough. None the less Taco Burger Cafe is a great restaurant that has a great name and design. 

I would highly recommend anyone who lives in Houston to try them out. The staff are very nice and friendly and their restaurant is very clean and well kept. It looked brand new. I thought that they had just opened! So this is a first for me since I don't usually like to specify which location I visited. But since this looks to be an original. I thought I would share the location with you.

Luchi And Joey's: Enchiladas Suizas

Checking in today with another hot meal! With the Enchiladas Suizas plate from Luchi and Joey's. A homemade Mexican restaurant located in Houston, TX. Luchi and Joey's claims to sell food truck taste straight from the heart of Mexico! My impressions....

Well since this restaurant was located near were I work and I ended up with no lunch. I thought it would be a good idea to try Luchi and Joey's out. Did it live up to my expectations?

Well yes I've got no complaints. I have never, or at least not that I now of, had any authentic Mexican food before, so I wasn't sure what to compare it to.

The Enchilda Suizas plate that I ordered comes with three chicken enchiladas with a side of Spanish rice and your choice style of beans. I always choose the re-fried style of beans. Those are my favorite. I really enjoyed my meal. The enchiladas were super hot, like from a food truck. And I don't know what authentic Mexican food tastes like, but I am pretty sure this was close.

The enchiladas were stuffed with easy to chew chicken and some kind of Spanish sauce. I thought the Enchiladas Suizas plate was one of the best chicken enchilada plates that I have had in awhile. Since Luchi and Joey's is close to where I work. I may go visit them again. I would like to try out there other food items.

Bullritor's: Bullrito Bag

Today on my way to volunteer at an animal shelter. I spotted a Bullrito's location and it sounded good. So for lunch I went in to get a burrito. Bullrito;s does sell other things besides burritos, but with a name like Bullrito's, you know what I had to order. And I am glad that I did! Their burritos are huge! I really enjoyed mine.

But then again mine was a special order. To order a burrito at Bullrito's you have to get one of the many sandwich bags that are hanging on their walls. The bags are called Bullrito bags. So once you get a Bullrito bag, you then shade in a circle what you want to have on your burrito. Like you do at some sub sandwich restaurants. There is a picture of the Bullrito bag above. The process is simple and easy. My burrito was done in a matter of minutes!

The staff were prompt and the place was clean and well kept. I enjoyed my burrito and feel that it was a great value compared to how much you would spend at other Tex-Mex restaurants. My burrito was really filling and big. The only thing I didn't like was that some of the sauce dripped onto my clothes. But that was because I had opened up the tin foil. You really need to hold on to their burritos. I would recommend using a fork and knife.

Victor's: Veggie Burger

Today for lunch I decided to try Victor's on FM 1960. I had spotted it a few times on my way back from a animal shelter that I volunteer at on Sundays. The place looked interesting, so I decided to look at their menu online. On Victor's menu I saw that they had a veggie burger and I just had try it. If you don't already know. I love veggie burgers!

So after calling and ordering my veggie burger. I walked in and got my meal. The staff were very friendly and nice. I ordered take out since I was on my way home and I don't really like eating by myself at restaurants. Victor's has apparently been around since 1988.

My thoughts? I thought the veggie burger was delicious! The bean patty was soft and easy to chew. They didn't give me much fries as you can see in the picture, but they were big, so that kind of made up for it. I do love my fries though as well. But since this was a veggie burger and not a real burger it was ok.

I really enjoyed my Victor's veggie burger and hope to stop by and try out one of their other menu items one day.
